On August 7th, thousands gathered at Shoreline Amphitheater for a day of music, inspiration, education and activism. Between the seven hours of stage performances, the audience saw a collection of videos about the issues, and ways to become engaged in the cause. For everyone who couldn't be there, we're happy to present these videos online.

For three decades, MUSE has influenced individuals, businesses and governments to avoid a nuclear nightmare with development of clean, safe power. In this video we celebrate the history of MUSE, and invite concert-goers to explore the "Clean & Safe Energy Village" constructed at Shoreline expressly for the event.

The power of the MUSE message is expressed by the people who attend the event, then get active in their own communities. Here we salute the audience who came for the day with photos of them arriving, set to the driving new version of Woody Guthrie's "Atom Fire" performed by Joel Rafael. (And look for a cameo by Firesign Theatre's Phil Proctor!)

The MUSE concert began with solemn acknowledgement of the recent Fukushima disaster. This video connected the nature of a Koan's teaching enlightenment to the need to raise energy consciousness as an introduction to the stage performance by Kitaro.

Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, Graham Nash, Keb' Mo' and Ben Harper joined in this adaptation of the classic Buffalo Springfield song, "For What It's Worth," to help stop a $50 billion loan guarantee package for building new nuclear power plants that was slipped into the 2007 Energy Bill. The Fall 2007 campaign mounted by NukeFree.org and allied environmental non-profit organizations gathered over 120,000 signatures, including those of the activists and artists listed on the scroll above. After a media conference and lobby day featuring Bonnie, Jackson, Graham and several environmental organizations along with public pressure on key Senators, Congress defeated the proposed loan guarantees, handing the safe energy movement a huge victory on the road to a green-powered Earth.
